A controversial cartoon showing B.R. Ambedkar and Jawaharlal Nehru has been uncovered from class XI NCERT book in Government school. The cartoon which is expected to be around 60 years old and has been made by famous cartoonist of that time Keshav Shankar Pillai. Shankar is a recipient of Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards in the years 1956, 1966 and 1976 respectively. The cartoon shows Jawaharlal Nehru with a whip in his hand and Ambedkar sitting on a snail working on constitution. The cartoon shows the slow progress (indicated by Snail) on constitution with Nehru urging Ambedkar to speed up.
