Few days ago, Arnab Goswami resigned from Times Now as the Editor in Chief. Arnab Goswami is popular in India for hosting News Hour Debate, a program of Times Now.
Goswami has become sparked some jokes and memes because of his ability to dominate the guests that come to his show and some of his punchlines. Even though he gives the nation a good laugh he is widely respected.
Slowly Arnab became the reason why more and more more people were attracted to the channel. The TRP obviously rose.
Now that Arnab Goswami has resigned, Times Now is afraid that their TRP will decrease. Television Rating Point (TRP) is a tool provided to judge which programmes are viewed the most. This gives us an index of the choice of the people and also the popularity of a particular channel.
The back up plan of Times Now to keep their channel running is to give a slot for some TV serials as they get huge TRPs in India. This will start as an experiment in India, if it works Times Now will fully become an entertainment channel and withdraw from the news sector.
Times Now is currently reviewing various script to find the perfect one for the short experiment. After the script is finalized Times Now will be present in the auditions done by the selected producer and hire a crew for the serial. The channel doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned. They are trying to deliver their best.
Few people who know about the upcoming changes are very excited to see what Times Now is bringing up next for them. They don’t mind switching to other channels for news and using Times Now to view serials if it is as interesting as Arnab’s News Hour.

Excited people doubles the responsibility of the channel. If the people who are already expecting much get disappointed they will discontinue watching the channel.
Entering into the entertainment sector can be a huge risk for the channel. Even showing one serial can turn out to be a huge risk. If the serial is a flop no one will prefer watching the channel as it will not be either a pure news channel or a pure entertainment channel. Then, they will be compelled to take the serial off air which will lead to great loss as now a days lots of money is needed to make a serial. Animators are also needed to turn the characters into animals and insects for the story.
