Hundreds of fashionably awakened Delhiites joined our mission of making the Capital dress better. Today, we feature two of our lucky readers, Devanshi Tuli and Aditya Verma, who got a style makeover by our team of experts at Claridges Hotel, Delhi, on Friday. Kitni fake hai Brand Factory
This woman is a walking-talking advert of all the top fashion brands you can think of. It’s a pity that her picks turn out to be fakes. Our reporter Navdeep Kaur Marwah gives you a peek into the Brand Factory’s fashion sensibilities. This phenku devi goes hunting for clothing and accessories that have big, flashy logos and lines up her catch stylishly in her wardrobe. Baby, you thought you’ve fooled us, but we knew your picks are nakli the moment you said your new bag is a Loooees Weetaun!
Don’t be a Brand Factory
You need to focus on wearing clothes that suit you and your body type. While shopping, look for flattering styles and colours that make you feel confident without the flashy brand logos.
HT City’s Navdeep Kaur Marwah playing Brand Factory
Don’t buy clothes or accessories that have flashy or fake branding. Also, never wear all your branded clothes and accessories together. Let your individual style take precedence by combining high street with luxury brands.

Style gurus on Brand Factory [Expert Advice]
The aspiration level of a Brand Factory is very high. If you ask her the names of the models of the branded bag she’s carrying, she will be clueless.
-Kapil Arora, designer
Brand factories are a big show off. Delhi is just full of them. Instead of picking up an outfit for its style, they blindly go for clothes that have logos shouting for attention.
-Taniya Khanuja, designer
I see Brand Factories all the time, with logos all over them! Also, I have seen a lot of men wearing jackets without removing a label that’s put on the sleeve, specially Armani jackets. Show offs!
-Payal Jain, designer
Brand Factories lack self confidence. At fashion shows, they wear the ‘it’ bag and the ‘it’ shoes. They forget who they are and just remember what they are wearing. Such duds!
-Anupamaa Dayal, designer
Congratulations, readers!
Meet our lucky readers who won a style makeover, along with exclusive designer outfits.
The results are for you to see:
Devanshi Tuli, 17, class 12 student
Devanshi Tuli, a class 12 student of Manav Sthali School has her wardrobe full of skimpy dresses. “She can’t think beyond dresses. I wish I could see her in an Indian attire,” her mom told us. Taking a hint from that, designer Rimple Narula picked up an anarkali kurta in gauzy tulle and digitally printed silk, with an embellished yoke featuring bead work and Kashmiri aari work for her. Makeup artist Richa Agarwal kept her look simple – a peachy base, pink lip gloss, and hair left open with soft swirls. “I never knew that Indian attire can make me look so pretty! I’ll wear this outfit to my friend’s wedding next month. Thank you HT City,” said a delighted Devanshi after her makeover.
Aditya Verma, 23, engineering student
Aditya Verma, a fourth year student of Northern India Engineering College, Delhi says he has been wearing tight tees and denim all his life. “This is what looks best at me. I don’t want to experiment with my looks,” he told us. It was quite a task convincing this youngster to slip into the linen textured kurta with a stylised neckline and cuffs, teamed with a churidaar. His slightly longish curls were chopped and straightened to enhance his jawline, with some front flicks to hide his broad forehead. This is what Aditya had to say after the makeover: “OMG! Can’t believe it’s me! I’ve never worn a kurta in my life! I just love my look. I am looking so different. Thank you so much for making me wear something Indian!”
