Karan Deol is All Set to Make His Debut in Bollywood Next Year

Now, who is the youngster all set to carry forward the lagacy of Deol family in Bollywood? Well, it is none other than Karan Deol, the chubby and robust looking grandson of the yesteryear veteran star, Dharmendra! Has the teenager got the charisma of his grandpa, who had stolen the hearts of so many girls in the 1960s and the earlier years of the 70s? Born in 1935, Dharam Singh Deol was an aspiring youth from Ludhiana who left his village at the tender age of 19 and made headway towards the stardom.

Without a star father of uncle to accredit his position in B-Town, the young lad from Punjab succeeeded in making a niche for himself by creating a new ‘macho image’, which received acclamations far and wide. His fan club expanded in leaps and bounds since his ‘He-Man’ image was welcomed and applauded by both, men and women, irrespective of their age groups. Films like ‘Chupke-Chupke’, ‘Satyakaam’, ‘Guddi’ and “Shole’ pontificated his name while his controversial second marriage to the ‘Dream Girl’ of Bollywood made him a hot topic of discussion in the media and press.

Dharmendra’s eldest son, Sunny Deol made his debut in Rahul Rawail’s ’Betaab’, which stormed the box office and received applause from all over the nation.  His name was embroiled in controversies for a brief period owing to his romance with Amrita Singh.  Young Deol cleared his name very soon and proved his worth by giving sensational performances in ‘Damini’, ‘Gadar’, ‘Jaal’, ‘Big Brother’ and so on.

His younger brother, Bobby too followed his footsteps and debuted in ‘Barsaat’ with Twinkle Khanna. However, it proved to be one of the biggest flops of the 1990s, thereby pulling down the Deol banner in Bollywood to a great extent. All the same, his dreamy eyes and curly mane appealed to the youngsters in large numbers and very soon, he succeeded in winning rounds of applause due to his box-office hits like ‘Soldier’.

Esha Deol, to everybody’s astonishment, failed to appeal to the sensitivities of the audience and has lately, chosen to settle down in matrimonial bliss. Hema Malini, the ‘Dream Girl’ had to swallow her pride while Dharmendra still has two sons as his trump cards.

Abhay Deol is another scion of the same family who charmed the audience by his light-hearted performance in ‘Socha Na Tha’. Being the son of the director Ajit Deol and nephew of Dharmendra, he certainly has the genes of an actor. ‘Chakravyuh’, his latest project in Prakash Jha’s venture is to be released on 24th October. There has been a lot of speculation about the movie since it is about the Naxalite Movement, which has become an eyesore for the Government of India. Also, Abhay is expected to stun the audience with his role of a fundamentalist this time.

However, History seems to be repeating itself for the Deol family, albeit with a twist in the events this time. Rahul Rawail, whose blockbuster ‘Betaab’ had enabled Sunny to gain a foothold in Bollywood has established an acting school for the youngsters.

Now, who has earned the distinction of being the first student of this training academy amidst a galaxy of the other star kids? It is Karan Deol, Sunny’s son after all! The reticent and yet, proud father has lately revealed to the press that Karan is all set to make his debut in Bollywood next year. Sunny stated very clearly to the media that, currently, his son is highly involved in learning the essentials of becoming a successful actor. He wants Karan to be a clean family entertainer and not like the present day actors, who, according to him, earn fame and polularity inspite of their degradable performances, thanks to the current marketing strategies.

Besides, Sunny seems to be quite excited about his upcoming project, ‘Apna or Yamla Pagla Deewaana’ and adrently wants his son to bag quite a number of good scripts as well. Perhaps, Sunny has been playing a true dad’s role in turning down the numerous offers , which might have been offered to his son in a platter. (Almost all the star kids are previleged to get such a treat!)

However, only time would ascertain whether Karan is worthy of holding a candle to his illustrious dad and grandpa!
