The formal announcement has been made. The leggy lass of Bollywood- Deepika Padukone, better known for her affair with Ranbir Kapoor will be romancing none other than the serial kisser- Emraan Hashmi in Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor’s joint co-production. Dharma productions and Balaji Telefilms have decided to come together and set a box office record and the silver screen on fire by producing a romantic thriller.
Karan Johar known for his Midas and Ekta who has carved a niche with The Dirty Picture are all set to extend their friendship by working together and creating a box office winner.
Emraan was their first choice as an actor. Kareena was being considered to romance Emraan in this quirky and dramatic film. Some days ago we had heard that Kareena had signed Karan Johar’s next- well that is stale news. There has been a twist in the story.
Kareena Kapoor was unable to sign this prestigious offer due to some date problems she was unable to go ahead with this project. Recently, in an interview she stated that “I have given a chunk of my dates to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his forthcoming film so I will be unable to sign this project.’’
The gossip mills are spinning another story stating that Kareena developed cold feet as she did not want to be seen on silver screen with Emraan. So, all is not well between Emraan and Kareena? No… far from it.
Recently Emraan Hashmi had organized a special screening of his critically applauded flick ‘Shanghai’ especially for Bebo and she gracefully obliged by attending this occasion in style and grace.
Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor have made up their minds and have signed Deepika Padukone for this romantic thriller that will be directed in urban India. A newbie director – Akshay Roy will be directing this flick. Kareena’s loss is Deepika’s gain as she will be seen romancing the serial kisser- Emraan in this movie. Deepika has confirmed the news and she was heard saying that “when I heard the script I found it extremely exciting and loved the way the film had been conceptualized’’. Deepika was not at all hesitant to work with Emraan, rather was all praises for the versatile actor. Dippy is surely making the right moves as Emraan’s career looks great with blockbusters like The Dirty Picture, and Shanghai.
The million dollar question is that will Akshay create a scintillating and a box office winner with the never seen before pair of Emraan and Deepika? Well, we need to wait and watch.
