When celebrities misbehave in public it becomes a hot topic. Shah Rukh Khan’s behaviour of late has become talk of the season. To begin with the year hasn’t started on a good note for the Superstar as his last years movies Ra One and Don2 didn’t set the box office on fire. Adding to the insult, his public image has also deteriorated. It all started in a party hosted by Sanjay Dutt when the king khan lost his temper and slapped the director. It was well known that both of the had cold war going on for quite some time. Shah Rukh Khan behaving is such a manner in public surprised everyone as this kind of news wasn’t heard about on Shah Rukh. But this is not all. More problems were awaiting in the IPL 5.
It was a moment of joy for Shah Rukh as his team KKR defeated the Mumbai Indians. But more than the victory the ugly spat with the Mumbai Cricket Association(MCA) made more headlines. Khan defended himself by telling that few people manhandled his kids over there. The MCA officials on the other hand stated that the actor was drunk. Whatever be the reason much more responsible behaviour is expected from a celebrity of such a stature. He is definitely setting a wrong example by smoking in the stadiums and coming drunk to indulge in a fight.
It was a historic moment when his team Kolkata Knight Riders lifted the fifth season of IPL. Khan had a chance to resurrect his public image. He apologized on the Television.There were reports that MCA officials could lift the ban on him. But it seems Mr. Khan is determined to create some controversy. He said that he apologize to his family and his fans and not to MCA. If he wanted to apologize to his family, he could have very well done it personally and not in front of the camera. And he was definitely right in apologizing to the public for his behaviour. But what the actor needs to realize is that he is losing his credibility. Till few years ago he had the clean image of a family man. But of late his behaviour in public is going from bad to worse.
On one hand we can see his contemporary Aamir Khan who made a grand entry into the Television screen to discuss some serious problems in our country, we have another Khan who is setting a wrong example. Clearly he is losing his admirers and if he doesn’t mend his ways, his statements will no longer be credible. And for God’s sake we already have a big- mouthed,arrogant Kamal R Khan whom no one cares about. One can only hope that ShahRukh Khan doesn’t become KRK 2 in terms of his behaviour.
